Call for Abstracts (closed)

We are pleased to announce the call for abstracts for the IALE 2022 European Landscape Ecology Congress. The call is open for all researchers, policy makers and practitioners with a special interest in landscape ecology. The congress will have an European focus but we look forward to welcoming participants from around the world.

Abstract submission

To submit your abstract, please fill in the abstract submission form. During the submission process, you will be asked to assign your abstract to one of the following symposia. The symposia are grouped in ten thematic clusters according to overarching topics. So the symposia in one cluster are thus focusing on a specific issue. Please note that your abstract will be reviewed by the organisers of the symposium you submit your abstract to. You will also have the opportunity to select your preferred presentation format (oral or poster). Posters will be presented during the dedicated poster sessions available for all participants. We will do our best to accommodate your preferences, however, the symposia organisers may offer the alternative format.

Submission confirmation

After successful submission of your abstract, you will receive an automatic confirmation to the e-mail address provided. In the absence of confirmation, please contact the congress organizers at congress@iale2022.eu.

Deadline

The deadline for submitting abstracts is January 28, 2022. Notifications about abstract acceptance will be sent at the end of February 2022.

Abstract Structure

The maximum length of an abstract is 3000 characters with spaces (excluding the abstract title, authors and their affiliations). We recommend using a classic structure with an introduction, methods, results, discussion and conclusions, although we also recognise that there are often good reasons to deviate from this format. References are not recommended but allowed. If present, they must be APA-style, cited in the main body and listed at the end, and be within the 3000-character limit. Graphic elements are not allowed.

Publication of Abstracts

The abstracts will be published in the Book of Abstracts as an eBook (with ISBN and DOI).

Declaration of Consent to Publication and Assignation of Copyright

By submitting an abstract the authors collectively accept the following:

I confirm that I checked this abstract before submission and that all information is correct. Submission of the abstract constitutes my consent to publication on the congress website and in the Book of Abstracts. The abstract submitter warrants and represents that he/she is the sole owner or has the rights of all the information and content provided. The publication of the abstract does not infringe any third party rights including, but not limited to, intellectual property rights. The abstract submitter grants the congress organisers a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable nonexclusive license to use, reproduce, publish, translate, distribute, and display the content. The congress organisers reserve the right to remove from any publication an abstract which does not comply with the above. The corresponding author is responsible for informing the other authors about the status of the abstract.

Congress format

The congress will be organised in the physical format that is safe for the participants.

Indicative congress fee

All presenting Authors, including the session organisers, must register (and pay) to attend the congress. The early bird registration will open in March 2022. We expect the average congress fee to be around EUR 400. The fee will cover participation in sessions, lunches and coffee breaks, social events and mid-congress excursions, and will be reduced for IALE members, early-carrier scientists and non-high income countries. The final fee structure will be published with the opening of registration in March 2022.
